Our Clubs
The first golf club to reside on the former Cowley marshes site was the Oxford University Golf Club in 1875. Later joined by the Oxford City Golf Club in 1899, and then the Oxford Ladies Golf Club in 1901. All three have celebrated their centenaries playing on our wonderful golf course.
Oxford City Golf Club has a rich history and the early days saw our most famous member William Morris (later Lord and Viscount Nuffield), preside over the club from 1925 to 1963. More recently the club has seen the likes of professional footballer’s enjoy their golf here with us.
The Oxford Ladies Golf Club enjoy a growing membership with a well known television golf presenter formerly a member here.
There have been many exhibition matches played between the clubs over the years and we are looking forward to re-invigorating many more in future.
